Rockefeller Center – OCCULT SYMBOLISM
I’m very sure that if I carve on any of the wall of the Rockefeller Center the following words: “Catholicism Shall Be The Stability of Thy Times” it will be ordered to be removed immediately by the Rockefeller family unless they fully agree with it. That is if they even allow me to start carving it. So when “Wisdom And Knowledge Shall Be The Stability Of Thy Times” was carved above one of the entrances of the Center, one can say it was with the approval of the Rockefeller Family. The carving resembles the painting by William Blake “Ancient of Days” which is described in Chapter 7 of the Book of Daniel.
Ancient of Days is a name for God in Aramaic: Atik Yomin; in the Greek Septuagint: Palaios Hemeron; and in the Vulgate: Antiquus Dierum.
DANIEL CHAPTER 7
In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters. Daniel spake and said: “I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.
And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brakes in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another Little Horn, before whom there were three of the First Horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and The Ancient of Days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like The Son of Man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to The Ancient of Days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.(HERE WE HAVE AN ALLUTION TO THE CHACKAS)
Here I must mention The Vitruvian Man that world-renowned drawing created by Leonardo Da Vinci around the year 1487. The vitruvian man places the center of men at the genitalia thus referring to the chakra of water.
Water in Egyptian hieroglyphs, the symbol for water is a wavy line with small sharp crests, representing the water’s surface. The same sign, when tripled, symbolizes a volume of water, that is, the primeval ocean and prime matter. According to hermetic tradition, the god Nu was the substance from which the gods of the first ennead emerged. In the Vedas, water is referred to as the most maternal because, in the beginning, everything was like a sea without light. Limitless and immortal, the waters are the beginning and the end of all things on earth. Although water is, in appearance, formless, ancient cultures made a distinction between ‘upper waters’ and ‘lower waters’. In a general sense, the concept of ‘water’ stands, of course, for all liquid matter.
A secondary meaning of this symbolism is found in the identification of water with intuitive wisdom. In the cosmogony of the Mesopotamian peoples, the abyss of water was regarded as a symbol of the unfathomable, impersonal Wisdom. The waters, in short, symbolize the universal congress of potentialities, the fons et origo, which precedes all form and all creation. The Babylonians called it ‘the home of wisdom’.
I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. But The Saints of The Most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
Then I would know the truth of The Fourth Beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. I beheld, and the same horn made war with The Saints, and prevailed against them; Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to The Saints of The Most High; and the time came that The Saints possessed the kingdom. Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. And he shall speak great words against The Most High, and shall wear out The Saints of The Most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of The Saints of The Most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.
It appears to me that there is a prophesy embedded in the sculpture above the entrance of the GE building at Rockefeller Center. I believe it announces the coming of a new order. Perhaps the Rockefellers believe they are the people of The Saints of The Most Hight. Perhaps this sculpture reveals their megalomaniac complex.
You’ll notice that the carving is also adorned by seven stars. They represent the seven liberal arts and sciences namely: grammar, rhetoric, logic, arithmetic, geometry, music and astronomy.
It is through the liberal arts and sciences that the occultist elite has come to dominate the world. It is through the liberal arts and sciences the means by which they are trying to reach apotheosis.
The seven star has eight rays and the number eight in itself is very revealing. The octonary, related to two squares or the octagon, is the intermediate form between the square or the terrestrial order and the circle (the eternal order) and is, in consequence, a symbol of regeneration. By virtue of its shape, the numeral is associated with the two interlacing serpents of the caduceus, signifying the balancing out of opposing forces or the equivalence of the spiritual power to the natural. It also symbolizes—again because of its shape—the eternally spiraling movement of the heavens (shown also by the double sigmoid line—the sign of the infinite). Because of its implications of regeneration, eight was in the Middle Ages an emblem of the waters of baptism. Furthermore, it corresponds in medieval mystic cosmogony to the fixed stars of the firmament, denoting that the planetary influences have been overcome. Embellishments, architectonic structures, and different dispositions based on the octagon (in ground-plan or elevation in the case of a building or structure such as a baptistry, fountain, etc.) symbolize spiritual regeneration, because the eight-sided figure is connected with this idea as the intermediary between the square and the circle. It is not surprising, therefore, that the majority of baptistries have a definite octagonal shape.
The Pythagoreans call eight the number of justice, and fulness: first, because it is first of all divided into numbers equally even, viz. into four, and that division is by the same reason made into twice two, viz. by twice two twice; and by reason of this equality of division, it took to it self the name of justice, but the other received the name, viz. of fulness, by reason of the contexture of the corporeall solidity, since the first makes a solid body. Hence that custome of Orpheus, swearing by eight dieties [deities], if at any time he would beseech divine justice, whose names are these: Fire, Water, Earth, the Heaven, Moon, Sun, Phanes, the Night. There are also only eight visible Spheres of the heavens: also by it the property of corporeall nature is signified, which Orpheus comprehends in eight of his Sea songs. This is also called the covenant of circumcision, which was commanded to be done by the Jewes the eight day. The Maltese cross or cross of eight points, is expressive of centripetal forces. The eight petalled rose symbolizes regeneration.
Scorpio is the “eighth” sign of the Zodiac. Scorpio corresponds to that period of the span of man’s life which lies under the threat of death (that is, the ‘fall’). In the Middle Ages the scorpion makes its appearance in Christian art as an emblem of treachery and as a symbol for the Jew. In fine, Scorpio in its symbolism is equivalent to that of the hangman.
The ancient Zodiac had only eight constellations and each constellation was supposed to be a “form of God”. All these “forms of God” in the end became deities, each one presiding over one particular constellation; this is what happened in Rome, for example. The dodecatemorian system of the Zodiac first appears in the form in which we know it as late as the 6th century B.C.
The interesting thing about the Ancient of Times sculpture is the compasses.
Compasses together with the square is symbolic of the traditional values. But in this one particular sculpture the square is missing so there are no boundaries set for the compasses which alludes to secular humanist values or laws. In other words it alludes to situational ethics.
Secular humanism is a humanist philosophy that espouses reason, ethics, and justice, and specifically rejects supernatural and religious dogma as the basis of morality and decision-making. Like other types of humanism, secular humanism is a life stance that focuses on the way human beings can lead good, happy and functional lives.
The term “secular humanism” was coined in the 20th century, and was adopted by non-religious humanists in order to make a clear distinction from “religious humanism”. Secular humanism is also called “scientific humanism”. Biologist E. O. Wilson claimed it to be “the only worldview compatible with science’s growing knowledge of the real world and the laws of nature”.
Situational ethics is a system of ethics that evaluates acts in light of their situational context rather than by the application of moral absolutes. There is a compasses but there is no square. Situational ethics is a teleological, or consequential theory, in that it is concerned with the outcome or consequences of an action; the end, as opposed to an action being intrinsically wrong such as in deontological theories. In the case of situational ethics, the ends can justify the means. Here you know what to expect from these people.
I would suggest that above the entrance of the GE building should be written the same words which DANTE says are written over the great gate of Hell: LET THOSE WHO ENTER HERE LEAVE HOPE BEHIND !
Another notable feature of the Rockefeller Center is the statue of Prometheus. The Prometheus myth, according to Piobb, is an illustration of sublimation by virtue of the family resemblance between the vulture and the eagle—which confirms the alchemic relationship between the volatile and the fixed principles. At the same time, suffering (like that of Prometheus) corresponds to sublimation because of its association with the colour red—the third colour in the alchemic Magnum Opus, coming after black and white. Diel also suggests that Vulcan, Icarus and Prometheus are symbolic of the intellect—understood almost in its technical and ‘merely human’ sense—in open rebellion against the spirit.
In the occult circle Prometheus, Jesus, Moses and Jesus are one and the same. He, who stole the fire from the God, carries the fire down to Earth and gave it to men.
Here is Eliphas Levi in “The Doctrine of Transcendental Magic” referring to Phyche and Eve: Both are guilty of the crime which must be expiated by the Prometheus of ancient days and the Lucifer of the Christian legend, the one delivered by Hercules and the other overcome by the Saviour. The Great Magical Secret is therefore the lamp and dagger of Psyche, the apple of Eve, the sacred fire of Prometheus, the burning sceptre of Lucifer, but it is also the Holy Cross of the Redeemer.
Lucifer, like Prometheus, gave knowledge to humanity by giving Eve the fruit from the forbidden tree. Because of Lucifer, humanity gained knowledge of good and evil, according to Genesis. Since we couldn’t have possessed knowledge of good and evil before eating the fruit, Adam and Eve couldn’t have known that eating the fruit was evil, so it seems a little harsh to punish them as severely as God did. Lucifer gave humans true capacity for moral judgment, unlike God, who simply expected everyone to mindlessly obey his orders.
What is fire? Fire in Egyptian hieroglyphics, is also related to the solar-symbolism of the flame, and associated in particular with the concepts of life and health (deriving from the idea of body-heat). It is also allied with the concept of superiority and control, showing that the symbol had by this time developed into an expression of spiritual energy.
The alchemists retained in particular the Heraclitean notion of fire as ‘the agent of transmutation’, since all things derive from, and return to, fire. It is the seed which is reproduced in each successive life (and is thereby linked with the libido and fecundity). In this sense as a mediator between forms which vanish and forms in creation, fire is, like water, a symbol of transformation and regeneration. For most primitives, fire was a demiurge emanating from the sun, whose earthly representative it was; hence it is related on the one hand with the ray of light and the lightning, and, on the other, with gold. Frazer lists many rites in which torches, bonfires, burning embers and even ashes are considered capable of stimulating the growth of the cornfields and the well-being of man and of animals.
The triumphant power and the vitality of the sun—by analogy, the spirit of the shining Origin—is tantamount to victory over the power of evil (the forces of darkness); purification is the necessary sacrificial means of achieving the sun’s triumph. Marius Schneider, however, distinguishes between two kinds of fire, depending upon their direction (or their function): fire as in the axis fire-earth (representing eroticism, solar heat and physical energy), and fire of the axis fire-air (linked with mysticism, purification or sublimation, and spiritual energy). There is an exact parallel here with the ambivalent symbolism of the sword (denoting both physical destruction and determination of spirit). Fire, in consequence, is an image of energy which may be found at the level of animal passion as well as on the plane of spiritual strength. The Heraclitean idea of fire as the agent of destruction and regeneration is reproduced in the Indian Puranas and in the Apocalypse. Gaston Bachelard recalls the alchemists’ concept of fire as ‘an Element which operates in the centre of all things’, as a unifying and stabilizing factor. Paracelsus demonstrated the parallel between fire and life, pointing out that both must feed upon other lives in order to keep alive. To steal fire like Prometheus, or to give oneself up to fire like Empedocles, are two concepts which point to the basic dualism of the human predicament. The middle way lies in the comfortable solution of simply making material use of the benefits of fire. But fire is ultra-life. It embraces both good (vital heat) and bad (destruction and conflagration). It implies the desire to annihilate time and to bring all things to their end. Fire is the archetypal image of phenomena in themselves. To pass through fire is symbolic of transcending the human condition, according to Eliade in Myths, Dreams and Mysteries (London, 1960).
As to Prometheus carrying the flame, it is well known that there are certain significant points of contact between the flame and light. For Bachelard, the flame symbolizes transcendence itself, whereas light signifies the effect of the transcendental upon the environment. He adds that ‘The alchemist attributed the value of gold to the fact of its being a receptacle for the Element of fire (the sun); the quintessence of gold is fire.
